Tara River Canyon
Reaching great depths of 1,333m, the Tara Canyon is the deepest in Europe and the second deepest in the world after Colorado. The river Tara itself stretches to 146.6km long, and the largest part of the river, including the canyon, is a UNESCO protected world heritage site, as part of the Durmitor National Park.
Djurdjevica Tara Bridge
The construction of this impressive concrete arch bridge, designed by Mijat Trojanovic, commenced in 1937, opening to the public, in all its beauty, in 1940. The bridge holds the record for the largest wooden scaffolding in the world, and is comprised of five arches, the largest spanning 116m!
