Skadar Lake is home to an incredible 281 bird species, making it an area of outstanding international importance for wildlife and nature conservation. It is also listed among the world’s aquatic habitats of international significance, thanks to its rich wetlands, diverse ecosystems, and exceptional natural beauty. From quiet reed beds and open water to floating fields of water lilies, the lake offers a perfect environment for countless species to thrive. It is especially famous for being the last remaining breeding ground of the endangered Dalmatian Pelican and the rare Pygmy Cormorant, making every visit a unique opportunity to experience one of Europe’s most important birding destinations.

  • Meeting in Virpazar center.
  • The cruise starts with a beautiful canal surrounded by various plants and birds, after which we reach the open part of the lake.
  • This tour includes a cruise on the river channels, passing by the bird reserve, the Vranjina peninsula, Lesendra and several small islands surrounded by a carpet of lotus flowers and birds.
  • During the boat tour, visitors can observe the rich diversity of flora and fauna of the lake. Lake Skadar is home to numerous species of birds, such as pelicans, herons and cormorants, and visitors can see them flying or resting on the small islands scattered around the lake.
  • A short break is also planned for swimming in the lake. This tour is the perfect way to discover the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Montenegro.

  • National Park ticket required before boarding: 5€ per person
  • Children under 7: free (no ticket needed)
  • Ticket includes entry to Vranjina Animal Species Museum
  • Departure time is flexible

  • Traditional Montenegrin snack priganice with cheese and honey is available for an additional €10 per boat (must be requested in advance).
