One day tour to Durmitor National Park with visit to Black Lake and Đurđevića Tara bridge.
Durmitor National Park is one of the most stunning natural sites in Europe and a real playground for nature lovers. It is one of the most visited national parks in Montenegro. On this one day tour to Durmitor you will visit the main points of interest and the most beautiful spots in Durmitor National Park - the Black Lake and Đurđevića Tara bridge. The Black Lake is a glacial lake in the heart of Durmitor National Park, surrounded by an educational trail suitable for everyone. The Tara bridge is under UNESCO protection and is often seen on postcards due to the stunning nature around it.
The tour includes guidance in English and van transfer to Žabljak center. A relaxing hike around Black Lake and a visit to Tara bridge to witness the beautiful canyon from above. You will also have an additional possibility for zip line above Tara canyon - the second deepest canyon in the world!
We start our journey to Žabljak, situated at an altitude of 1,456 metres, making it the highest situated town on Balkan peninsula. The drive includes beautiful scenery along the way. On arrival at Durmitor National Park, we head to its most visited site - Black Lake. Join your guide on a walk along the educational trail around the lake (lasting 1 hour) and have 1 additional hour free time on your own. The path is about 3.5 km long and is suitable for everyone. There are some stairs and it’s rocky in places, so we recommend comfortable shoes.
When it comes to Durmitor National Park, there is no end with spectacular views wherever you look around. Our next stop will be a special one - Đurđevića Tara bridge above Tara canyon. Tara canyon is the second deepest canyon in the world and takes pride in being on the UNESCO’s list of protected areas in the “Man and Biosphere” program from 1977 because of its diverse flora and fauna. The Tara bridge stands gloriously 172 m above the Tara river and was built from 1938 to 1940 to connect the two sides of Tara canyon. Here, you can try the fastest zip line in Europe - zip line above Tara, for an additional cost (payable in cash).
Departure is planned via same route. Thank you!
