Considered as the pearl of Balkan, Montenegro is a small country but extremely rich in various natural and cultural heritage. Here, in such a small area you can find the sea, coast, medieval towns, islands, glacial lakes, high mountains as well as rich plant and animal life. The biggest advantage is that in a short period of time we can tour the entire country without spending the whole day in the vehicle.
If you are not sure what to see and do in Montenegro and you would like an "all in one" Montenegro tour, this program is ideal for you. In 7 days, we will tour the whole of Montenegro from Kotor in the south, across Lake Skadar in the central part to the mountain massifs in the national parks Durmitor and Biogradska gora.

Arrival to Kotor. We will drop our luggage at the hotel and head on a 3-hour private speed boat tour to Perast, once the maritime center of this region. We will have a stop at the island in front - The Lady of the Rocks, famous for its interesting history and one of the most beautiful catholic churches in coastal Montenegro. We will take a short tour to the church, a visit to the museum is optional. The speed boat will take us inside the submarine tunnels, dating from World War II and then we will have a swim in the famous Blue cave. After check-in we are going to discover Kotor on a walking tour along the old town with visits to its most important sightseeing points: The Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas, the Catholic Cathedral of St. Tryphon, the Maritime Museum and the multiple squares (called "pijacete"), each of which has its own story. Dinner time in one of the local restaurants.
We prepare for a one hour drive to Lovćen National Park. We will visit the Mausoleum of Njegoš located 1657m above sea level (part of the Lovćen Mountain). You will get the chance to learn about its history, and enjoy magical views from the top after you climb the famous 461 stairs. We will also visit Cetinje, the old capital of Montenegro and its monastery. Lunch at one of the best traditional restaurants in Cetinje and departure back to Kotor via 25 serpentines to enjoy a magnificent sunset. Here, you can add a visit to Lipa cave the only cave monument in Montenegro open for tourist visits.
We check out and leave Kotor on our way to Virpazar, the center of Skadar Lake National Park. Skadar Lake is the largest lake on the Balkan Peninsula, it’s extremely famous for its diversity of flora and fauna. We head on a 2-hour boat tour accross Skadar Lake. We will enjoy a cruise in traditional wooden boats, surrounded by stunning natural landscapes and have breaks to jump into the water. After the tour, you will have free time in Virpazar before we head for a 2-hour wine tasting tour in Crmnica region. Departure to Žabljak. Check-in at the hotel.
Today, we are going to experience the via ferrata on Uvita Greda, in the very heart of the Durmitor National Park. A via ferrata is a secured hiking trail, crossing otherwise inaccessible areas, mountain massifs and other terrains, with the help of safety equipment and cables. The 2-hour ascent is completed with stunning views over the peaks of the Durmitor massif. We will take a break before we start out 2-hour descent back to Sedlo. Photo session at the famous wooden frame on Sedlo viewpoint. Lunch time in Žabljak and free evening time to explore the center.
Our fifth day is reserved for the "Tear of Europe", also the second deepest canyon in the world. The Tara River Canyon is up to 1,330m deep, and is a part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1980. We will start the day with a half hour drive to Đurđevića Tara where our rafting adventure begins. The rafting tour along Tara canyon will take about 4 hours and is 30 km long. Each raft is accompanied by a licensed guide to navigate and coach participants. All necessary rafting and safety equipment is provided, including sterilized neoprene wetsuits and boots, a safety helmet and life vest. A well deserved lunch at the camp will be the perfect time to sum up our impressions before we continue towards the famous Đurđevića Tara bridge to admire the canyon from a different perspective. Here, the brave ones can try the longest zip line in Europe. Back to Žabljak.
Check out from the hotel. The drive to Biogradska Gora National Park will take about 2.30 hours, with amazing natural landscapes along the way. Our first stop will be Morača Monastery, the oldest monastery in Montenegro built in the XIII century. From the monastery we continue our way to the national park. Together with the surroundings, Biogradska Gora National Park is an extremely important climatic, hydrogeological and ecological hub of Montenegro and the Balkans. Biogradska Gora is one of the last three preserved rainforests in Europe with trees up to four centuries old, over 45 meters high. We will take a walking tour around the heart of Biogradska Gora - Biogradsko lake, considered as one of the most beautiful lakes on Balkan Peninsula, with a wealth of plant and animal life. After the walking tour we head to Kolašin, Montenegro's main mountain resort, for lunch. In the local restaurant, you will get the opportunity to taste the best of traditional cuisine.
