Part 1 - Boat Ride Across the Biggest Lake on Balkan Peninsula

We begin our journey with a scenic drive along the coast, passing through Budva and continuing towards the charming town of Virpazar. Upon arrival, we head to the small harbor on Skadar Lake, the largest lake on the Balkan Peninsula, where a 2-hour boat cruise awaits.

Skadar Lake is renowned as Europe’s largest bird reserve and the last remaining breeding ground of the endangered Dalmatian Pelican and Pygmy Cormorant. It also serves as an important resting point for migratory birds traveling from Northern Europe to Africa, making the cruise a unique opportunity to experience rich wildlife and untouched nature.

Part 2 - Virpazar

After the boat tour, you will have one hour of free time to explore the village of Virpazar, considered the heart of Skadar Lake National Park. We take a short walk through the village, after which you may choose to visit Besac Fortress, a historic site built by the Ottomans in 1478, or enjoy lunch at one of the lakeside restaurants.

Besac Fortress is a cultural and historical monument of exceptional importance and offers one of the most beautiful panoramic viewpoints over Skadar Lake. From here, you can enjoy sweeping views of the lake, surrounding wetlands, and distant mountains. The relaxed atmosphere of Virpazar provides a perfect ending to this peaceful and scenic experience.
