General info

There is no better way to explore Skadar Lake than by bike — cycling through this wide open landscape gives you incredible views toward Albania and a real sense of freedom that you simply don’t get from a car. The route is full of beautiful panoramic stops, quiet countryside roads, and small rural villages where time feels like it moves a little slower. Along the way, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take photos, enjoy the scenery, and taste local delicacies made in the region.

This is a moderately challenging tour with a few longer climbs, so unless you’re a very confident rider, we recommend choosing an e-bike. It makes the ride more comfortable and lets you focus on the experience instead of the effort. For an even richer day, the cycling tour can be combined with a boat ride on the lake — a great option for birdwatching and exploring hidden corners of Skadar’s wetlands — or with a wine tasting in one of the authentic local wineries in the Crmnica region, famous for its tradition and unique local flavors.

Overview of the tour

SKADAR LAKE EBIKE TOUR

From Lovćen Heights to the Shores of Skadar Lake

  • The tour starts at the Cable Car Kotor–Lovćen upper station (Kuk), followed by a short transfer to Meterizi (or you can meet us directly in Meterizi, on the M2.3 road between Podgorica and Cetinje). From here, we begin cycling towards the beautiful landscapes of Skadar Lake.
  • We ride along scenic, quiet roads towards Rijeka Crnojevića, a charming riverside town and one of the most authentic spots in the region. Continuing into Skadar Lake National Park, we stop at the famous Pavlova Strana viewpoint, one of Montenegro’s most iconic panoramas.
  • After the photo stop, we head to Virpazar, the gateway to the lake, and then continue to the traditional village of Godinje, surrounded by vineyards and stone houses. The tour ends in Godinje, with a transfer back to the Cable Car upper station (Kuk).
