Black Lake is a serene glacial lake nestled in the heart of the park, surrounded by an easy educational trail suitable for all visitors. Đurđevića Tara Bridge, a UNESCO-protected landmark, offers spectacular panoramic views of the Tara Canyon, often featured on postcards for its breathtaking scenery.

The tour includes an English-speaking guide and comfortable van transfers to Žabljak. Our experienced guides will greet you and provide a brief overview of the day ahead, including the main highlights of the tour and important information to ensure your comfort and safety.

 Throughout the day, our guide will share insights about the park’s geology, flora, fauna, and local history, enriching your experience. With everything planned and organized, you can fully relax and immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes and unforgettable views of Durmitor.

Part 1 - Žabljak

We begin our journey to Žabljak, located at an altitude of 1,456 metres, making it the highest town on the Balkan Peninsula. The drive offers stunning views of mountains, rivers, and forests, setting the perfect tone for your adventure. Upon arrival at Durmitor National Park, we visit its most popular attraction – Black Lake.

Join your guide for a walk along the educational trail around the lake, which takes about 1 hour, followed by an additional hour of free time to explore at your own pace. The trail is approximately 3.5 km long and suitable for all visitors, though there are some stairs and rocky sections, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Along the way, you can admire the crystal-clear waters, surrounding pine forests, and dramatic mountain peaks. Don’t forget your camera, as this area offers incredible photo opportunities at every turn. The tranquil atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to relax and connect with nature before continuing your adventure.

Part 2 - “The Tear of Europe”

When it comes to Durmitor National Park, spectacular views surround you at every turn, making each stop more breathtaking than the last. Our next highlight is the Đurđevića Tara Bridge, spanning the majestic Tara Canyon. The canyon is the second deepest in the world and has been protected under UNESCO’s “Man and Biosphere” program since 1977, thanks to its rich biodiversity and unique landscapes.

The Tara Bridge rises 172 meters above the river and was constructed between 1938 and 1940 to connect the canyon’s two sides. From here, you can admire the dramatic scenery or, for thrill-seekers, experience Europe’s fastest zip line above the canyon (optional, additional cost payable in cash). The combination of natural beauty, history, and adrenaline makes this stop truly unforgettable.
